Monemvasia Monemvasia Monemvasia or monovasia or known to the Franks as Malvasia is a small historic city of eastern Peloponnese, Epidaurus Limiras province, in the prefecture of Laconia. It is best known from the medieval fortress on the eponymous "Rock of Monemvasia", which is literally a small island linked by a bridge formed on the neck 400 meters total length with today beaches in against the city on the Laconian coast.
